Why Choose This Course?
You've been out of the water for 12 months or more, and you want to go diving.
Sure, you can go diving, but let's have your skills refreshed first. Refreshing your skills could save your own life, and/or the life of your dive buddy, that is, if you were to encounter problems whilst diving.
Many of the Phuket boat operators will not allow us to send you fun diving on their boat unless your skills are fresh and current.
Personally, I think it's a great dictation. So, when you're booking a diving daytrip with us, we'll check your diving credentials by reviewing your dive log, certification card(s) and through general discussion. The last thing we need to do is to put you or anyone else at risk just because your diving skills are out of date. This restriction is waived for Seasoned Divers showing their log book with 60+ logged dives. However, anyone who has not dived within 2 years, seasoned or not, must take a partial scuba review!
We strongly believe in safe diving practices, and if we deem that you need, but you don't have time for a Partial Scuba Review, the only other option you have which will allow you to dive, is to take a Private Dive Guide on your trip. Boat operators will only accept out-of-practice divers when they have a private guide or an instructor taking care. If this happens, your first and subsequent dives that day will be restricted to 12m depth, but at least you still get to go diving. Please note that the private guide will not retest/refresh your skills with you in the water, but they will talk to you in detail en-route to the dive site to understand what may or may not be in-water issues.
Maybe you choose this course because when you last went diving, you came across a problem in the water that made you feel at risk or uncomfortable because you didnt know what to do or remember how to react. Perhaps some retraining could help you prevent the problem, and also show you how to fix it. If you think you need retraining in one particular skill, then a Partial review concentrated on that specific subject could help improve your confidence.
The primary difference between the Full and the Partial review is that the Full review will take you through some video and academics, in addition to the pool session provided in the Partial.
The Partial review also tests a few less in-water skills than the Full review.
On completing this activity, you will have demonstrated that you're safe to go diving again.
Flexible Schedule
These courses start any day of the week.
Partial Scuba Review consists of a maximum of 2hrs in the pool.
Full Scuba Review consists of almost 1 full day of training in the classroom and pool.
Location
Varies, depending on where you're staying.
Maybe at your hotel room and pool, or at our dive centre.
General Information
Highly recommended every 2 or 3 years of diving.
Sometimes we're enforced to make you take the Partial Review.
Also Consider
PADI Enriched Air Diver (EAN Nitrox) Course
Improving your allowed bottom time during a dive, decompression limits become less of a concern when you use Nitrox instead of normal Air. You'll also find that diving on Nitrox makes you feel less tired than diving on Air, due to the increased Oxygen content (28%, 32% or 36%). You will find many dive centres, daytrip boats and liveaboards offering you Nitrox tanks once you're trained how to use it.
