Why Choose This Course?
Improving your allowed bottom time during a dive, decompression limits become less of a concern when you use Nitrox instead of normal Air. You'll also find that diving on Nitrox makes you feel less tired than diving on normal Air, due to the increased Oxygen content (28%, 32% or 36%). You'll find many dive centres, daytrip boats and liveaboards offering you Nitrox tanks once you're trained how to use it. This is the logo you'll get used to seeing :-
In addition to be understanding Nitrox usage, we'll also teach you how to set your dive computer with the correct nitrox settings.
And, as advanced divers or higher you'll realise that multiple day repetitive diving is better on your body when you use Nitrox rather than normal Air.
On completing this activity, certification will be awarded if you've shown mastery
of the skill requirements as defined by the PADI Enriched Air Diver Program.
Prerequisites
You must already be certified to Open Water Diver or higher (or currently being trained to Open Water Diver or higher), and you need to be at least 15yrs old. This training can not be added-on to Junior diving courses.
Flexible Schedule
You can start this course any day of the week and we can incorporate this add-on to your Open Water Diver Course, your Advaned Open Water Diver Course or also during any fun-diving daytrips that you might want to take, where facilities permit.
Itinerary Options
Because of the flexibility in taking this course, there are a number of options.
You can take this course :-
as an add-on to a diving course that you're taking with us
as part of a fun-diving daytrip where our instructors accompany you
Either way, there is some academics to learn in addition to diving with Nitrox.
If you're doing a Daytrip, you'll need to have seen us at the dive centre to collect your homework prior to going on the daytrip. Alternatively, and if available, we can deliver this to your hotel.

Location
Self study may need to be done in the dive centre, at your hotel, or on the boat.
The Nitrox dives can be done on any daytrip boat that we've marked OK for [C] courses.
As shown above, and when available, we also allow this course to be taken on beach dives too.
General Information
Many people have the misconception that Nitrox is for deep or deeper diving. Wrong! It's aim is to reduce the amount of Nitrogen entering your blood stream by which you currently understand through the RDP (Recreational Dive Planner). As part of the Nitrox course, you'll learn that your Allowed Bottom Time increases due to a smaller Nitrogen intake, giving you more time to spend exploring underwater, subject to the available air supply in your tank!
